DMCA & Copyright Policy
Last Updated: June 22, 20261. Policy Overview
SC Downloader respects the intellectual property rights of artists, composers, and record labels. In compliance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and global copyright regulations, we have established clear channels for copyright owners to request content restrictions on our converter platform.
2. Hosting Disclaimer
Please note that SC Downloader does not host, upload, database, store, or distribute any audio files, playlists, or media content on its servers. Our platform operates entirely as a temporary transcoding proxy. When a user pastes a SoundCloud link, our utility reads public audio stream fragments directly from SoundCloud CDN servers, transcodes them into an MP3 container inside a transient memory buffer, and streams the finished file directly to the user. We have no storage databases or file-sharing folders to sweep or purge.
3. Removing the Source Content
Since we do not host any files, we are technically unable to delete or remove any track from the internet. Even if we block a link on our tool, the song remains public and streamable on SoundCloud and other downloading platforms. To remove the audio completely from the web, the copyright owner must file a copyright claim directly with SoundCloud (the hosting platform). Once SoundCloud deletes or privatizes the track, it will instantly and automatically become impossible to convert or download via our website.
4. Requesting a URL Block on Our Website
Although we do not host files, we can configure our servers to block specific SoundCloud URLs or entire artist profiles from being parsed by our converter. If you are a copyright owner or authorized representative and wish to restrict users from downloading your content through our tool, please send a block request.
To process your request, please email a formal notification to abuse@sc-downloader.com containing the following details:
- Identification of the Copyrighted Work: The name of the song, artist, and specific SoundCloud links (URLs) that you want us to block. Profile links are also accepted to block all tracks under an artist's profile.
- Proof of Authority: A clear statement indicating your relationship to the copyright owner (e.g., artist, manager, record label representative) and contact information (name, email, phone number).
- Statement of Good Faith: A statement that you believe, in good faith, that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- Electronic Signature: An electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized representative.
5. Processing Time
We review and action all valid block requests manually. Once we verify the notice, we will update our API server parameters to blacklist the submitted URLs, which takes approximately 24 to 48 hours to propagate across our global Cloudflare edge caching nodes.
